Art street residence of Khodkevych
In the conditions of quarantine, domestic tourism in the native land is more relevant than ever. Tourist trips, interactive exhibitions and interesting excursions enrich us with knowledge about the culture and history of the cities, towns and villages near which we live, which we visit, and which we want to return to again.
Today, there are 20 local history museums in the Rivne region. Each of them faces a number of difficult challenges: 1) to save their uniqueness, tell their story and preserve their cultural heritage; 2) increase the number of visitors under quarantine conditions; 3) to remain active in the information field of the region; 4) switch to new tools of interaction with the visitor and the community.
Small communities of the Rivne region, such as Mlynivska, have a remarkable history, a powerful cultural heritage, impressive architectural monuments and natural resources, their own special atmosphere. The Mlyniv Museum of Local Lore is not ready for today's challenges and needs new tools for interaction with the world and new ways of promotion.
This fall, a new venue for various cultural and educational events was created on the grounds of the 18th-century manor of the Khodkevych princes, which houses the Mlyniv Museum of Local Lore. The artistic street residence of the Khodkevychs is a new form of interaction of history and innovation, activation of the community and attraction of tourists, an open platform for the creation of a high-quality cultural product in the Rivne region.
The project is implemented by the Mlyniv settlement council in partnership with the NGO "Agency for sustainable development of the city" and the Rivne regional state administration, within the framework of the regional competition for development projects of territorial communities of the Rivne region.
Within the scope of the project, tourist information stands were installed on the territory of the park, which is also a monument of garden and park art of the 18th century, the location was equipped with benches and trash cans, street furniture, tents and technical equipment were purchased for holding various events on the territory of the museum. Now in the Mlynivsk Museum of Local Lore, everyone will be able to organize master classes, concerts, film screenings, lectures, trainings, tourist workshops, etc. The residence will become an additional tool for the activation of tourism, because it will facilitate the holding of interesting artistic events for which there was no suitable location in Mlyniv before. Funds from the work of the residence will be directed to improving the functioning of the Mlyniv Museum of Local History, whose employees will actually take care of the residence.
So, we are waiting for new visitors to the Mlyniv region, and we urge the residents of Mlyniv to create a quality vacation together and create a new history of their village.
